Impact Programme

The New City of Alexandra.

Our flagship impact programme and the first chapter of a much larger story: 100 Inclusive African Cities, built so that the people who give a city life can share in its success. It sits under our #ChangeAlexNow mission.

The Flagship

A proposed R500 billion capital mobilisation target.

The New City of Alexandra is a proposed large-scale development vision combining housing, commerce, community and lifestyle infrastructure. It is designed from the outset around inclusive ownership.

Rather than a development that happens to a community, it is envisioned as one that happens with it — connecting local participation with institutional capital to create lasting economic value.

The R500 billion figure is a proposed capital mobilisation target, subject to project planning, approvals and investment arrangements. It is not capital already raised or guaranteed funding.

#ChangeAlexNow

Our name is attached to a mission.

Alexandra Asset Management carries the name of the place we serve. That is a commitment rather than a marketing choice: an investment firm that intends to transform communities has to be deliberate about where it works and to whom it answers.

We dedicate our efforts to the communities of Alexandra, next to Sandton. Our attempt is to lead society, our partners and key stakeholders across the continent to address the social injustice and the loss of dignity that keeps millions of Africans from the boardrooms where agendas are set.

We do not claim to do this alone, and we do not promise outcomes we cannot control. What we hold ourselves to is discipline: projects that are properly planned, capital that is raised transparently, and participation opened to people who have been left out of it.
